Conor Shanahan tops our final 2022 qualifying session

As if this weekend wasn’t already going to go down to the wire, our final Qualifying session of the season has ended, with Conor Shanahan reigning supreme and coming out on top, putting in a 98-point run to top the scoreboard here in Poland, giving him prime advantage heading into tomorrow’s battle action.

Young-gun Conor pushed harder than ever to claim top spot, which he did just ahead of brother Jack Shanahan who finished in second place, also putting in a 98-point run, but having a lower scoring second run versus his brother’s two runs.

It would be fellow Irishman James Deane rounding out an all-Irish Top 3 then, who with just one run to do it all after a crash on his first run, put in a very impressive 95-point run to claim P3.

Polish fan-favourite, reigning champion and current championship leader Piotr Wiecek would slot in next in 4th position, also scoring a 95-point run on his first and a zero on his second, forcing the scoring system to fall back to a tie-breaker scenario, where James Deane’s individual judged scores would see him slot into the 3rd place spot.

With our 4 championship contenders now firmly through to the Top 32, tomorrow is the day where fireworks are set to fly high into the Polish night sky, where we will crown our DMEC 2022 champion under the bright night lights of the Moto Arena in Łódź, Poland.

Our final Top 32 battle action of the season returns to your screens tomorrow from 5.30pm local Polish time (CEST) and Top 16 from 8.30pm CEST, which you can tune into exclusively live on Red Bull TV. Before then though, check out our full list of Qualifying results and tomorrow’s Top 32 battle bracket below, then make sure you tune in live to see who will be crowned our DMEC 2022 champion!
