Welcome to Riga, the fourth round of the Drift Masters European Championship. It was a rainy day in the Bikernieki circuit during Top32 battles. We saw plenty of spins and drivers going off track.
Top 32
The first big surprise came in heat 1 – two times local hero Nikolass Bertans eliminated DMEC champion Piotr Wiecek.
Adam Zalewski is having the worst season in Drift Masters history – for the fourth time in a row, he was eliminated from the Top 32.
Top 16
Naoki Nakamura had ups and downs this season, and this time, he fell out in Top16 after a messy battle with Michal Reichert. He straightens and loses it.
This season, Benediktas Čirba is fighting with cars’ mechanical failures; they seem to have fixed everything during the night. Still, Benediktas was too exhausted and made big mistakes, and he lost to Juha Rintanen, which is on fire this season.
Top 8
“NikNak” Beats “James the machine Deane” – after one of the toughest battles one more time, Nikolass managed to overcome James Deane, which led Nikolass to the second place podium.
Top 4
Duane Mckeever went out in the Top 4. He did not show up at the start line because of his previous messy battle with Lauri Heinonen. Duane Mckeever broke his differential.
Finals
Latvian superstar Nikolass Bertans went against one of the championship leaders, Jack Shanahan. Unfortunately for Nikolass, he had no more tyres left for the final and put on used ones. That made him not catch up to the Irish drifter, and he lost the final battle.
